Worthy

Can we take a second and stop. Just be still. No distractions from the sounds of the tv or notifications from your phone or the people walking by, I ask for your full attention.

Do you know what you are worth? It sounds like a dumb question but it’s not, it’s actually a valid, important question. So I ask again, what is your worth? I have an answer. There is no price to how much you are worth because you are priceless. That may sound extreme but can you hang in there with me for a few minutes?

One of the most expensive things ever bought in the world is a yacht that was $4.5 billion. This boat is not made from the typical materials any yacht would be made of, instead it’s made of solid gold and platinum. It also contains real dinosaur bones in the statues on the yacht. This is no ordinary boat. Someone who had $4.5 billion to spare, bought a boat for their own pleasure. Amazon, an online shopping website I am sure we are all familiar with, has a brand value of $150.8 billion, now that is even more insane.

Can I tell you something? You are worth more than both of those things combined. Yes, you.

You are not an accident, you have purpose, you have a mission on Earth. You matter.

Who am I to tell you these things? You might think “she doesn’t even know me, so why should I listen to her?” You are right, I may not know you, but I do know one thing.

Look at your hands, your fingers, the inside of your palm and look at all the details on them. They are designed with some much detail and care. Now look in the mirror, your eyes, your eyebrows, your nose, the corner of your lips and look at how each curve and dip is designed so beautifully. Now think of a flower or a tree, think of all the details in the leaves and petals. Can you see the detail in it all. Now I ask you, why would something be created if it is not worth something? My friend, you are worth something, you are beautifully designed and can do so many things.

Don’t compare yourself to the person next to you, the current celebrity or the person you think has it all. You are you and you are amazing.

I struggled with the thought of never being good enough for anyone, not skinny enough or pretty enough or popular enough to fit in. I didn't have the latest things or have the most money. I used to think that every bad thing that happened to me was somehow my fault and therefore who would want me anyways. I felt lonely, in a place thinking no one would even know if I disappeared. I know how it feels to think that no one cares and no one listens or understands. You might be thinking that I have no idea what has happened to you and so none of this could be true for you. You are right, I don't know what has happened to you and in your life but I know that we all have a chance.

This verse in Psalm 139:14 saids “I am fearfully and wonderfully made” .

You were made, not an accident and you have so much to offer the world. You might feel so far from everything but I promise you can come back and be who you want to truly be. So let’s start by saying “I am worthy, priceless, beautiful”. I don’t want you to just read it but actual say it out loud, don’t be shy now. Say “I am loved, I am beautiful, I am worthy.” out loud.

Although I may not know you, can I give you a little seed of hope? Will you allow everything you read sink in? There is so much more for you out there, you are worth it and you are loved. What society will say about you, does not define you. I promise, there is more.
